Importing and exporting counterfeit goods is a customs offence.
The buyer :
- risk fines and/or imprisonment simply for possessing a forgery,
- can compromise health (fake alcohol, perfumes and cosmetics),
- undermines national industrial heritage and know-how, and finances criminal networks.
Currencies
Since 15 June 2007, you have been required to declare to French customs any sums, securities or valuables worth €10,000 or more that you carry across the borders of the European Union. This applies whether or not you are a French resident.
