For children travelling unaccompanied, your airline's staff will take care of their passage through our terminal: they will accompany your child and ensure their safety throughout their journey.
On many companies, From the age of 4 until the eve of their twelfth birthday, children can travel unaccompanied as UM (Unaccompanied Minor) passengers.
From age 4
Children aged 4 to 11 inclusive will automatically be covered by this service, provided the airline offers this option.
Over 12 years
Airlines no longer provide this service for children over 12 travelling alone.

Booking
When booking your ticket, you must indicate that your child is travelling unaccompanied. The company will then confirm that your request has been accepted.
Council Please remember to book the UM service as early as possible, as the number of places on this service may be limited.
Travel documents
Before your child leaves, check the entry and residence formalities required for their trip.
Any child travelling unaccompanied by a parent must submit the following 3 documents :
- identity document of the minor (identity card or passport),
- parental authorisation signed by one of the parents with parental authority,
- an identification sheet with details of the person responsible for receiving the child on arrival. This person must carry identification.
At the departure airport
UMs must be present at the airport for at least 2 hours before flight departure (Please contact your airline for details of the arrangements in place).
When children check in at the airport, they will be given a UM special folder which must be kept during the trip. It will contain :
- sound plane ticket,
- its identity papers,
- l’parental authorisation,
- the identification sheet which will include the contact details of the person responsible for meeting the passenger at the arrival airport. This person must be in possession of an identity document to welcome the child on arrival.
At the check-in desk, you will be told the time and place where your child will be picked up. At the appointed time, a member of staff will accompany your child to the aircraft.
Council Check any baggage that your child is not able to carry themselves into the hold.
At the arrival airport
When it arrives at its destination, your child will be the last to arrive.
A member of the flight crew will accompany the passenger to the arrival area, where they will be met by the person designated to welcome them.
To find out more : depending on the infrastructure of the arrival airport, the child will have already collected their baggage or will collect it with their attendant.
On arrival, your child arrives last.

- Not all airlines offer the UM service. Contact your airline.
- The UM support service is completely free of charge.
- In the event of a delayed or cancelled flight, staff will give priority to children travelling alone. Your child remains under constant supervision, even if accommodation is required.
- Children can no longer be registered on their parents' passports. Minors must have their own personal travel document from birth.
